What do we mean by an educational video?

For the purposes of the Edit Challenge event, we are focusing on educational videos as instructional videos. Therefore, we consider an educational video to have a pedagogical use and must conform to the certain criteria in order to be considered a submission for the Challenge

General information about videos in education and video pedagogy can be found on the resources page.

Who can participate?

While the event will involve cohorts of students at universities in many countries during the event days, the Challenge is open to anyone, anywhere who wishes to submit a video. If your school / organization wishes to participate the co-operation, please contact mr. Janne Länsitie of the Oulu University of Applied sciences or any of the other organizers.

How it Works…

Step 1.

We will be announcing the criteria to guide video submissions on November 23, 2016 at 9:00 GMT/10:00 CET/11:00 EET.

In other words, there will be a couple of things that every video must include.
These things will be announced on Nov 23. Follow this blog and the Facebook page!

Be aware that all submission should be in either English or have English subtitles.

Step 2.

Once you know the key criteria, you will need to think of an idea for your video and find a team (you can also make a video on your own).

If you need help, contact your local organizers. There are studios, tools and general help available. You can also ask for tips in the event Facebook -page.

You will have Nov 23rd to Nov 27th to make your video and submit it to us. All submissions should be submitted by the midnight of November 27th 2016 and the link to your visible video must on the event Facebook page.

You need a gmail account to upload your video to Youtube.
Get the link from Youtube and publish it on the EDIT Facebook page.

Step 3.

A panel of judges will go over all submissions. Winners will be announced during a live screening on Tuesday November 29th 2016. See the home page of this blog for more information about the screening.
